Lenn hernandez

Pierre Koolman is a dynamic Aruban drummer and percussionist whose rhythmic precision and versatility have made him a sought-after talent in the island’s music community. Growing up in a musical household, Pierre developed an early affinity for the drums, eventually channeling that passion into a professional career characterized by technical excellence and a deep understanding of diverse musical styles.

A cornerstone of several prominent local ensembles, Pierre is widely recognized for his work with SUS 3, a jazz trio he formed alongside his brother, guitarist Jeanoir Koolman. Within this setting, Pierre demonstrates a sophisticated command of jazz improvisation and complex time signatures, providing the rhythmic foundation that allows the group to explore intricate melodies. His ability to adapt his playing style—ranging from the subtle brushes of a jazz lounge to the driving energy of rock, reggae, and Latin genres like salsa and merengue—has allowed him to perform consistently at top-tier venues across Aruba.

In addition to his collaborative projects, Pierre is known for his professionalism and his role in elevating live entertainment standards on the island.
