ARUBA CELEBRATES BONAIRE DAY WEEKEND WITH LIVE MUSIC AND THEATER
ORANJESTAD — Aruba was filled with music and cultural unity this weekend as celebrations for Bonaire Day (Dia di Boneiro) kicked off with a packed lineup featuring three musical groups and a comedy theater performance.
Friday night set the tone for the festivities, offering three distinct events across the island that brought locals and visitors together:
- Bonaire Rhythms at Plaza Café: The stage outside Plaza Café turned into an open-air dance party as Grupo Eso from Bonaire performed alongside Aruba’s own Rincon Boyz, filling the air with festive Bonaire rhythms.
- Musical Comedy at the Conference Center: Theater lovers gathered for the popular musical play “Di Boneiro pa Aruba”, featuring hilarious local storytelling paired with live music by Grupo Tuti Fruti.
- Youth Talent at Chill Café: Representing the vibrant future of traditional music, the young musicians of FMK (Formacion Musikal Krioyo) took over Chill Café, delivering a high-energy performance that kept the crowd cheering.
The simultaneous Friday night events kicked off a memorable weekend celebrating the strong cultural bonds, shared history, and island brotherhood between Bonaire and Aruba.
